Calcium sulfate hemihydrate
CAS NO. 10034-76-1
MF:CaH2O5S
MW:154.16
1.Performance and use:
Color rhombohedral crystal (β type) or monoclinic crystal (α type). The relative molecular weight is 136.14. The relative density is 2.960. Melting point: 1193 ºC (transition from β type to α type), 1450 ºC (α type, and decomposition). Slightly soluble in water (0.209 at 20 ºC), soluble in acid, ammonium salts, sodium thiosulfate, sodium chloride solution, and glycerol. Even if water is added, it can no longer form calcium sulfate dihydrate. If natural gypsum ore is completely dehydrated below 300 ºC, soluble anhydrous gypsum that is soluble in water can be generated; If natural gypsum is heated above 600 ºC, insoluble anhydrous gypsum will be generated
Used as a diluent, filler, and curing agent for tablets, capsules, and sustained-release agents

3.Packaging and storage
25kg/drum,Weathering in dry air, deliquescence in humid air, sublimation in vacuum can quickly absorb ammonia, lose some crystal water when heated, and completely lose crystal water when exceeding 140 ºC to become yellow brown anhydrous nickel chloride. Easy to dissolve in water, ethanol, and ammonia, with aqueous solutions being acidic.
4.Safety protection
If inhaled, remove patient to fresh air. If breathing stops, administer artificial respiration.
Skin contact Flush with soap and plenty of water.
EYE CONTACT Use caution and flush eyes with water.
