1.Performance and use:
Lithium fluoride is a white powder with a sodium chloride crystal structure. Relative density 2.640, melting point 848 ºC, boiling point 1673 ºC. It begins to evaporate at 1100-1200 ºC, and its vapor is chemically alkaline. Lithium fluoride is slightly soluble in water, but difficult to dissolve in alcohol and other organic solvents. At room temperature, lithium fluoride is easily soluble in nitric acid and sulfuric acid, but insoluble in hydrochloric acid. It can form Li2HF acid salts with hydrofluoric acid.
Lithium fluoride can be widely used as a co solvent in the welding processes of enamel glass, copper, and aluminum, as well as in salt melting chemical processes; Also recommended as a heat carrier for storing solar radiation heat in aerospace technology; It can also be used in aluminum electrolysis and metallurgical industry.
