Appearance: dark purple elongated rhomboid columnar crystals, with metallic luster

Product Description

(1). Chemical Properties
1,It is oxidised and decomposed in ethanol and hydrogen peroxide.
2,Potassium permanganate is one of the strongest oxidising agents, as an oxidising agent it is greatly affected by pH and has the strongest oxidising ability in acidic solutions. Its corresponding acid permanganate HMnO4 and acid anhydride Mn2O7, are strong oxidising agents, which can automatically decompose and generate heat, and cause combustion by contacting with organic materials.
3,Potassium permanganate is strong oxidising agent, commonly used as oxidising agent in laboratory and industry, and decomposes when met with ethanol. In acidic medium, it will slowly decompose into manganese dioxide, potassium salt and oxygen. Light has a catalytic effect on this decomposition, so it is often stored in brown bottles in the laboratory. It is extremely oxidising as can be seen from the elemental potential diagram and the oxidation state diagram of free energy. In alkaline solutions its oxidising properties are not as strong as in acidic ones. When used as an oxidising agent, its reduction products vary according to the acidity or alkalinity of the medium.
4, the product meets the organic matter that releases the primary oxygen and manganese dioxide, and no free oxygen molecules released, so there is no bubble. Primary ecological oxygen has bactericidal, deodorant, detoxification effect, potassium permanganate antibacterial deodorant effect than hydrogen peroxide solution is strong and long-lasting. Manganese dioxide can combine with protein to form a grey-black complex, which is astringent at low concentration and irritating and corrosive at high concentration. Its bactericidal power with the increase of concentration and enhancement, 0.1% can kill most of the bacterial propagules, 2% to 5% solution can kill bacteria in 24 hours. Under acidic condition, the bactericidal effect can be obviously improved, such as adding 1.1% hydrochloric acid in 1% solution, which can kill anthrax spores in 30 seconds.
5,Potassium permanganate is decomposed by heat

(2),Role and use
In the production of chemicals, it is widely used as oxidant, such as the oxidant of saccharin, vitamin C, isoniazid and benzoic acid; in medicine, it is used as antiseptic, disinfectant, deodorant and antidote; in the purification of water and wastewater treatment, it is used as a water treatment agent to oxidize hydrogen sulfide, phenol, iron, manganese and organic and inorganic pollutants, to control the odour and decolour. It is also used as bleaching agent, adsorbent, colouring agent and disinfectant. It is widely used in many industries such as smelting, military industry, printing and dyeing, electroplating, electronics, medicine and so on.

(3),Hazardous characteristics
Strong oxidising agent, can explode when encountering concentrated sulphuric acid and ammonium salt; it can cause spontaneous combustion when encountering glycerol; it has the danger of causing combustion and explosion when contacting or mixing with organic materials, reducing agents and flammable materials such as sulphur and phosphorus.
Extinguishing method: Use water, mist water, sand and soil to extinguish the fire.

(4). Emergency treatment
Isolate the leaking contaminated area and restrict access. Emergency response personnel wear dust masks (full face masks) and anti-virus clothing. No direct contact with the leakage, small amount of leakage mixed with sand, dry lime or soda ash, and collected in dry, clean, covered containers with clean shovels. A large amount of leakage collection and recycling or transported to the waste disposal site disposal.

(5),Operation Precautions
Closed operation, strengthen ventilation. Operators must be specially trained, strictly abide by the operating procedures away from fire, heat sources, smoking, eating and drinking are strictly prohibited in the workplace. Avoid contact with reducing agent and active metal powder. Pay attention to light loading and unloading when handling to prevent damage to packaging and containers. Equipped with appropriate varieties and quantities of fire-fighting equipment and leakage emergency treatment equipment.
