Product Properties and Use.
Sodium chlorite is alkaline, slightly moisture absorption. Easily soluble in water, alcohol. Granular sodium chlorite is more stable at room temperature and under normal storage conditions, its stability is greater than sodium hypochlorite, less than sodium chlorate, solid and alkaline aqueous solution when heated to 170°C or more, decomposed into sodium chlorate and sodium hypochlorite, easy to decompose and release chlorine dioxide gas in the presence of acid. It is easy to explode or burn when in contact with wood chips, organic materials, reducing substances, impact and friction!
Sodium chlorite is mainly used in the manufacture of chlorine dioxide disinfectant, also used in cotton, linen, fiber, oil, pulp bleaching, metal surface treatment and water sterilization.
