1.Performance and use:
Gallic acid has many uses in pharmaceuticals, inks, dyes, food, light industry and organic synthesis.
It can be used to prepare pyrogallic gallic acid, drugs, inks, mordant dyes and explosion-proofing agents. It is also used as a developer and an analytical reagent for the detection of free inorganic acids, dihydroxyacetone, alkaloids and metals.
It can be used as preservative and chemical reagent.
Mainly used as a colour-forming agent for blue-black ink.
Used in food industry for the preparation of preservative gallopropyl ester. It is used in the defence industry for the preparation of explosion-proof agent.
Used as depolarising agent in electrochemical analysis; used to reduce phosphomolybdic acid; used for the determination of antimony, barium, bismuth, calcium, cerium and copper; used for the determination of phosphorus, nitrites, silver, thorium and titanium, etc. Used as a kind of water-soluble phenolic acid, which exists in the leaves of grapes and many other plants, and it is a potent antioxidant in vitro.
It is also the main raw material of NOBS, and is used as analytical reagent and solvent of resin, wax, wormwood, etc. It is used in the production of sodium sulphate, water glass and ultramarine. Water glass and ultramarine, etc. Also used in the manufacture of glass. Paper making. Detergent. Soap. Dyes. Synthetic fibres. Leather. Pharmaceutical and ceramic industries. Analytical reagent, such as the determination of nitrogen, dehydrating agent.
