1.Performance and use:
It is used as solvent, passivator of catalyst, intermediate of pesticide, coking inhibitor and so on. Dimethyl disulfide reacts with cresol to form 2-methyl-4-hydroxyanisole, and then condenses with O,O-dimethyl phosphorochloridic acid sulfide in alkaline medium to obtain fenthion. It is a kind of high efficient and low toxicity organophosphorus insecticide, with excellent effect on the control of rice stem borer, soybean heartworm and gadfly larvae. It can also be used as veterinary medicine to eliminate cattle fly maggots and cattle ticks.
